We shot Natasha & Ivan’s engagement session this past Sunday. It was hot outside, but after scheduling and rescheduling their engagement shoot because of weather, we all were super stoked to have some sunshine, especially after shooting their courthouse elopement back in November when it was icy cold outside.
Natasha had expressed interest in getting some photos down on Ruston Way by the Tacoma waterfront. We (magically) found a parking spot at Les Davis Pier–Mother’s Day and 80+ degree weather make for a BUSY waterfront. It was about 4pm and shade was hard to come by, so positioning the couple in such a way so they weren’t squinting into the sun was important. After rocking that dock, we trekked over to Owen Beach for some more photos. On the way, we stopped near the Rhododendron Garden along Five-Mile Drive for some forest shots. Owen Beach was very crowded, but we managed to find some pockets where it felt like Natasha & Ivan were the only ones there.
We can’t wait to shoot their wedding over Memorial Day weekend. Check back for their wedding day blog in early June!
