June is usually very hit-and-miss with the weather, but the morning of Cydne and Joshua’s wedding started out shockingly beautiful. Jason and I showed up almost an hour early to the salon and played around with the new Sony a6500 and its awesome highlight exposure metering (Geek out: You guys, it’s unbelievable!). Cydne and her girls got started at Salon 51 in Marysville, where Mylanna, a friend of Cydne’s father did Cydne’s bridal up-do while most of the rest of the gals did their own hair. Everyone ended up doing their own makeup at the venue.

Cydne and Josh did their first look over a footbridge that straddled a quaint creek that runs through the 5 acres of Nature’s Connection Place, a beautiful outdoor wedding venue inside Snohomish County in Arlington, WA. There are about four different spots that I could count on the property that could be used for an outdoor ceremony, and Cydne and Josh picked the large, unpainted wood arbor, delicately graced with a chandelier and white swags of fabric.

After the short but sweet ceremony, we had time to wrangle together a few epic photos of the entire bridal party at the other end of the property while the guests were enjoying a cocktail hour. Dinner was simple but delicious…that pulled pork…my mouth is watering just thinking about it! I didn’t try the smoked salmon, but I trust everyone else that it was amazing (and apparently you can see for yourself and buy some online!).

There were plenty of activities to keep the guests occupied. There was an open-air photo booth ran by Hannah Wolfe Photography, who did some third-shooting for us during the ceremony (and got some beautiful shots!). Cydne and Josh provided the props, which were a total riot. Who can resist a horse or unicorn mask? We even got a couple pics of the bride and groom in the unicorn and horse masks near the end of the evening. Giant Jenga is a huge hit at weddings around this area, and you can even rent a set for your event. These wedding guests were Jenga pros, and I perched with my camera waiting for the moment the tower would topple, but they just kept going!

All in all, it was a beautiful day full of dancing and good times. The love between Cydne and Joshua is palpable. We are so honored to have been chosen to play a part in their very special day.
